Timber is one of the only major renewable building materials. It can be recycled, safely disposed of, as well as being used as fuel. Trees cover 30% of our planet and are vital for life. They’re so important, that as a business, we are committed to our role in protecting our planet and reducing the environmental impact of sourcing and machining the timber we use.

Our timber is sustainably and ethically sourced directly from mills that are registered members of the FSC and/or PEFC schemes in Scandinavia and across Europe. This means that all timber we use has been certified as legal, sustainable, and sourced and supplied responsibly. These schemes maintain productivity but also minimise harm to ecosystems by maintaining the health, vitality, and biodiversity of the forests.

Timber sourcing update: 01/03/22

Broadfield Garden Buildings is deeply concerned about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and condemn these violent actions. We hope to see peace restored as soon as possible.

In line with recent statements and advice from the UK Timber Trade Federation, FSC, and British Government we can confirm that Broadfield Garden Buildings will not be purchasing any further timber originating from Russian or Belarusian sawmills. We remain certified with the FSC with ethical timber sourcing at the core of our values. We will continue to select the highest-grade Nordic softwood from our valued partners.
